Embrace the Camera May 26th {Buggie Date}

Welcome fellow "Em"bracers {get it, Em Emily, dork I know}
Honor once again to host Embrace the Camera.
My pictures this week remind me of why Emily started the Embrace the Camera moment.
GET YOURSELF IN PICTURES and create memories.

A few Embrace weeks ago, I talked about how important it is to have date nights with your significant others. Today I want to talk about how important it is to have dates with your kids.
Last week Hubs and I planned a secret. We called my MIL to come over to watch the Bean. And during pizza, we told her that we were taking her, no baby brother, to Disney for the evening.
This is her reaction...

After a quick potty break, grabbed some PJ's for the car ride home, and we were off!
No diaper bag {actually no bags at all!} and no stroller. Just the three of us.

When she was born she made my heart hurt from the love that filled it. And I still wonder how it holds it all.

We rode rides. Her favorite is the race cars.

It was a special time. A time she needed with just her Momma and Dadda.

We top our night off with ice cream and fireworks.

Perfect in so many ways.

Now are you ready to link up?!
Make sure to hop over and grab Em's button.
Remember these simple rules:
1. take a picture with you and your kids/spouse/family member/friend/whatever.
2. blog about that picture and include a link to our blog, or grab our button.
3. link your blog post up on mr. linky below.
4. visit the other embracers...give each other lots of compliments about how good we look with our greasy hair andsweatpants velour jogging suits on. cause yah, we need a little boost when it's been days since our last shower.
5. have fun!

don't forget to link your embrace the camera post, not just your blog.
this is really important---and really easy.

What we ate Wednesday. May 24th

It's Wednesday, aka FOODday.
Are you ready to link up?
I sure hope so.
Here is my recipe to share.

Mash Potato Stuffed Chicken with Lemon Parsley Sauce

Here is what you will need:
- chicken breast one per person {bone in}
- 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp parsley {I like the tube kind over fresh}
- mashed potato {one pack can stuff 4 breast}
- 2 tbsp room temp butter
- salt and pepper

Preheat the oven to 400. Make potatoes per bag instructions.

While potatoes cook zest the lemon, it should be around 1tsp. Once potatoes are cooked add the zest and mix.
*warning if you are chicken squeamish you may want to look away for the next three steps*

Carefully separate the skin from the breast, making sure not to make too big a hole.

With a spatula start stuffing the potatoes between the skin and the breast.

Smooth it towards the back as you go, until they are nice and filled.

And before they go in the oven drizzle with a little olive oil, rub it over the breast, and then season with salt and pepper. Bake for 40-50 mins.

Remove the chicken right away from the pan but leave the pan juices. Add the butter, parsley, and the juice from half the lemon. Whisk until forms a thickened sauce.
Plate the chicken and top with the sauce.

We ate ours with some oven roasted asparagus.
Yum to a BIG FAT O.

Slip Knot Leather Bracelets {DIY}

Have you noticed a trend lately of braids?
From hair to accessories, everything is braided.
For these super easy Slip Knot Braided Leather Bracelets you will need thin cut suede or leather 9 times the length you are making, for my little wrist I used around 2 2/1 yrd and hot glue. And if you are an extreme craft couponer like me you can score this for $1.99.

Step 1. Fold the right side over the left. Cross the right side over the left.

Step 2. *note you can do this with two hands, but not while taking pics, hence the clothes pin
man I really need to grow that third arm already*
Make a loop with left strand.

Step 3. Slide the loop in your left hand through the one in your right.

Step 4. Pull the right hand strand tight.

Step 5. Make a loop on the right side.

Step 6. Slide though the left hand side loop and pull tight. Keep repeating, until you have your desired length.
To finish them off you can tie a knot on the end you ended on and use the beginning side to create a loop to put the knot though. OR you can add a button to the ending side and the loop to slip around the button. I used the hot glue to glue the ends down when I cut them and also for adding the button.

I love them.
I think more will come to live on my arm
PLEASE, PLEASE tell me if my instructions were confusing in anyway!

{And the super cute clutch was from A Pearantly Sew}

ENJOY!
See you tomorrow with your "What we ate Wednesday" links!!

Embrace the Camera May 19th {Its a party!}

Ello governor.
Welcome if you are coming over from The Anderson Crew.
I am honored that Emily has trusted me to host Embrace the Camera this week.
It's a little bit of a cowinky dink, that I am hosting today since yesterday I spent most of the day with the three youngest Andersons babysitting them.

Iphone's hold special powers.
Powers to take any situation and make it that much more fun.
The kids had a blast taking turns taking pictures.
Here is a few from our day together.

Two little monkeys on my back. And man I am glad I have a hair appointment next week after seeing those roots in this picture.

The conversations between these two were pretty funny.

My little buddy.

Jazz hands.

Sweet little girl.

Silly face time.

Nolan and I both took naps, we are not use to all that energy on a wednesday.
Please put in a little extra pray for Emily and that she overcomes this sickness, soon.

Now its you turn to share.

There is a few "rules" to link up:
here's the nitty gritty:
1. take a picture with you and your kids/spouse/family member/friend/whatever.

What we ate Wednesday.

So it has been decided.
Wednesdays are officially "What we ate Wednesday."
I have said this before, I would LOVE to participate in "What I wore Wednesday."
BUT that would be a joke.
I mean I am currently sporting two day old PJ's and some serious jacked up hair.
But I love food.
So every Wednesday I want to share a recipe {might not always be mine}, or maybe a
restaurant, something food related.
And I am asking you to do the same.
Each week lets link up.
We will get some good food inspirations from each other.
Sounds good?

This week I am sharing my Cheesy Garlic Pull Apart Bread.

What you will need:
- half a loaf of some kind of crusty bread
- half stick of room temp butter {more if you are doing a full loaf}
- provolone slices
- fresh mozzarella sliced
- half tsp garlic powder {or you can use fresh roasted}
- kosher salt to taste

Preheat oven to 350.

slice loaf into thick pieces leaving it attached at the bottom

mix butter, garlic, and salt to taste. then spread on both sides of each piece of bread.
{red pepper flakes would be a yummy spicy addition}

stuff a piece of each provolone and mozzarella cheese in between each slice.
wrap in foil and place in oven for 20 mins. I like to open it up and broil on high for about two mins to get a nice crusty top.

Serve right away with your favorite italian dish.

We had ours with homemade meatballs and sauce.

"Mommy take a picture of my plate."

Enjoy!

I know this week you are not prepared for a link up.
So if you would like how about something for the archives?
Then next week, its on like donkey kong.
Just attached this button to your post and link up below.

Easy Peasy.
